Robert J. Achison (7 Ohio) appears in the 1850 United States Federal Census (10 Oct 1850) for Knox Township, Guernsey County along with his parents, David R. Achison (53 Pennsylvania) & Elizabeth Achison (43 Pennsylvania) and siblings, John Achison (23 Ohio), James R. Achison (21 Ohio), Eliza Achison (18 Ohio), Wm. Achison (16 Ohio), Easter J. Achison (14 Ohio), D. Anderson Achison (10 Ohio) and Saml. W. Achison (2 Ohio). His father, David was a farmer with land valued at $1500.

R. J. Achison (11 Ohio) is found in the 1856 Iowa State Census for Columbus City Township, Louisa County, Iowa along with his widowed mother, Elisabeth Achison (50 Pennsylvania) and siblings, A. E. "During the summer and fall of 1870, Johnston was cared for in his sister's, Mary and John Baird home. He had contracted tuberculosis and was ill for several months. Being very popular, he had many callers. Sometimes a whole wagonload of young folks came in the morning for an all day visit.
