Funeral services were held in the Baldwin-Lee Chapel in Pearl Wednesday, Dec. 20, for Robert Ernest Ferrell Sr., 71. Mr. Ferrell, a Pelahatchie resident, was a maintenance worker for City Service Oil Co. He served in both the U.S. Navy and Army, and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Barefoot Baptist Church. Burial was at Barefoot Springs Cemetery in Pelahatchie.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Jewel Ferrell; son, Robert Ernest Ferrel Jr., of Florence; daugthers, Betty Byrd of Clinton, and Thelma Smith of Walnut, North Carolina; brother, William Calvin Ferrell of Morton; sisters, Magiala Burnham of Pelahatchie, Linnie Belle Bradshaw of Syden, and Lena L. Nora Sollis of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
