Estella married Louie Melvin Smith on October 6, 1928 at Harrisburg, Illinois by a Justice of the Peace. There were seven children born to this union. Mary Alice, Eula, Wendell, Kenneth, Louie Melvin Jr., Richard Lee and Billy Ray Smith. They first lived in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois where the first two Smith children, Mary Alice and Eula, were born. After living at Cave-In-Rock for a couple of years, they moved to Belknap, Illinois in Johnson County where the next four children, Wendell, Kenneth, Louie Melvin Jr. and Richard Lee were born. Sadly, Louie Melvin Jr. only lived 27 days (born January 29, 1939 and died February 23, 1939. The cause of death was called Blue Baby, which I am told has something to do with milk. Louie Melvin Jr. is buried in the West Eden Cemetery on the Smith Family Plot. About 1943,the family moved again and this time to Anna, Illinois, which is in Union County, and Billy Ray was born at the Sam Joiner Farm in 1944.
Estella G. (Wallace) Smith died on May 24, 1997 at Anna, Illinois and is buried in the West Eden Cemetery next to her husband, Louie Melvin Smith and infant son, Louie Melvin Jr.
