Nicoly Otho Eldon Sass age 69 of Clyde passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on July 7, 1937 in Three Rivers, Michigan to the late Walter A. and Madge Erway Sass.

He retired from Champion Paper in 1994 after 34 years of faithful service. His family expressed his love for fishing, boating, and skiing. He also had a fond love to talk on C.B. Radios, his C.B. handle was the "The Big Rattler", and had many C.B. friends around the world including England, Russia, and other parts of the world. He also enjoyed working with various farm livestock, especially horses. Most importantly, he enjoyed being with his family which he loved the most.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters Sheryl Jones and Joyce Robinson, and one brother Carlyle Sass.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Ruth Nichols Sass, three sons, Eldon Sass of Clyde and daughter-in-law Sherri Sass of Clyde, Dennis Sass and his wife Ashley of Canton and Tim Sass and his wife Glenda of Clyde; five grandchildren Christina Creech and her husband Sky, Jennifer Sass, Jessie Sass, Kaitlin Sass and Caleb Sass, three great grandchildren Edwin, Ethan and Elexis Creech, four sisters, Madeline Bickle of Portage, MI, Beverly Garnett of Three Rivers, MI, Barbara Stevens of Three Rivers, MI, and Pat Stafford of Burlington, NC, and one brother Meredith Sass of Three Rivers, MI.

Services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday in the Chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Monday night at the funeral home. The Rev. Jay T. Jones and Alan Rash will officiate. His granddaughter Jessie Sass, Ernest T. Presnell Jr and his wife Peggy, will give special music.

Burial will be in the Ratcliffe Cove Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Justice, Roy Ingle, Wayne Green, Roy Moody, Bill Underwood and Ernest Presnell Jr.
