Jennie was the oldest daughter of parents William Decker and wife Emma Claymon.

She married George Michael Peters August 27, 1906 in Rathdrum, Idaho. They had three children: Marie Elizabeth; Clarence William; Albert Franklin. They lived in Spokane, Washington and George worked at the sawmill. George was a drunkard and wife beater which eventually resulted in a divorce.

After that, Jennie had a very hard time raising her children by herself. She had three more children: Martha, Solomon and Mayella. In the 1920 census, three of her children were in a children's home.

Jennie married Frank William Myers on January 19, 1927 in Santa Ana, California. They had been together off and on for years. They were later divorced.

Jennie married John A. Smith on May 16, 1935 in Compton, California.

Jennie was employed as a crop worker in Washington. After moving to California she worked renting apartments. Her daughter Marie took care of her in later years.
