His first wife was
Elizabeth Lynott
1767 – 1793
They married on 12 Oct 1786 in Ulster Co., NY. She was buried in the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church in Albany, NY. Her remains were moved to this cemetery about 1866 and placed in the group graves found in section 49. Several biographies claim that they had two children but no confirmation has been found.

His second wife was
Jane Varick
1760 – 1808
They married on 13 May 1799 in New York.
She is often referred to as Jane Varick Hardenberg because her first marriage was with Abraham Hardenberg. Her parents were Johannes Varick( 1723 – 1809) and Jane Dey (1727 – 1810). She is buried in the same plot as Simeon. Her remains were moved here with Simeon's in 1857.

Simeon died in Ithaca, NY on Dec 3, 1834 and he was buried near his summer home the Clinton House Hotel. Due to poor conditions of the burial site, in 1844 his remains were moved to Albany (as directed by his son Richard Varick DeWitt) and buried in a vault beneath the Middle Dutch Church. His remains were moved to the Rural Albany Cemetery in 1857 according to the cemetery burial card. His and his wife Jane's remains were placed in their son Richard Varick DeWitt's plot Sec 56 lot 30.
