Hurley Spring Creek Mill was one of the first businesses at Hurley. It was owned and operated by Joseph Hickman "Hick" Whinrey and James William "Cub" Likins for many years, and later by Lloyd Howard it was a thriving flour, grocery and supply business for many years in Hurley. The Mill was run by water for many years, the Dam was built there for that purpose. It was later operated by motor driven machinery.
