SAD ACCIDENT AT WESTPORT
Mrs. Julia Benjamin Run Over by Westbound Frieght and Instantly Killed Last Tuesday

Last Tuesday afternoon at about 5:25 Mrs. Julia Benjamin who residesd on a farm north of Westport in trying to cross the railroad tracks ahead of a frieght train stumbled and before she was able to arise was run over by the train. She was killed instantly, the train passing over her arm and neck and over her right ankle. One arm completely severed from the body.
It seems that Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin were just starting for home after having spent a short time in Westport. They had driven across the track and while Mr. Benjamin stopped to talk to a neighbor, Mrs. Benjamin went back to purchase something she had forgotten. When she came back and saw the frieght train and hurried to get across the track ahead of the train so as not to be delayed. Those who saw the accident say that she crossed about ten feet ahead of the train which was moving at about five miles an hour.
Mrs. Benjamin is survived by her husband and three children, the oldest of which is about thirteen years old. The remains will be taken to Grey Eagle for interment.
