Jimmie Dean Couch, 67, of 209 Hummingbird Lane, Salem, died Aug. 7, 2004, at his residence.

Born in Cherokee County, he was the son of the late James Isom and Sallie Childers Couch. He was an iron worker in the construction industry.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Christine Barrs Couch, of the home; two daughters, Leslie Goss and Missy Woodham; three sons, Jimmy Couch Jr., Rick Couch and Tim Tolbert; three sisters, Allene Gwinn, Margaret Lingerfelt and Linda Ball; a brother, Ronnie Barnes; and six grandchildren, Jessica, Chadwick, Nicholas, Shelbey, Tayes and Lauren.

Visitations will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m.; and Thursday from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.; at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the downtown chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Graceland West Cemetery.
