HOUSTON - Laela Jo (Morris) Lindner, 81, a homemaker and longtime Great Falls resident, died of natural causes Tuesday in Houston.

A graveside service is 10 a.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery in Great Falls. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Laela grew up in Great Falls, Montana, and attended Colorado Women's College and Montana State University. While in college, she was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

Over the years, Laela was very active in genealogy and was a founding member of the Bear Creek Genealogical Society. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames XVII Century, the Magna Carta Society and other genealogical societies. While her children were growing up, she was active with the San Jacinto Girl Scouts.

Her hobbies include quilting and making and designing dollhouses.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Galen Lloyd Lindner; and her parents, James Joseph Morris and Beulah Faye Kelley Morris

Laela is survived by her daughters: Gayle Lee Lindner, Terry Diane Crotinger and Tracy Ann Coe; and granddaughters: Rebecca Faith Crotinger, Lindsay Marie Alaniz, Melissa Joy Drzycimski and Alissa Michelle Prestridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
