JERICHO - Fred Sourdiff, born in Burlington, Oct. 3, 1943, age 66, died on Aug. 26, 2010 at home surrounded by loving family and friends after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Fred graduated from Burlington High School, for many years worked in his family's business, among many other ventures though his life. Fred retired in 2008. Fred loved spending time with his family and friends, cooking and entertaining. He always made people around him laugh. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

Fred was predeceased by his Aunt Velma and Edward Kilmer; mother, Nina Turnbaugh; father, Melvin Sourdiff; brother, Wayne Sourdiff; sister, Joan Francis.

Fred is survived by his wife Debora Sourdiff; sisters, Debi and Pat Alapa, Kathy and Joe Gogeun, Lynda Sourdiff; his uncle, Paul Sourdiff; his children, Kelly and husband Mike Lane, Kent Sourdiff, Kullen Sourdiff, Collin Sourdiff and fiancé Erin; stepchildren, Adam Bister, and Tracie Kernen; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

The family would like to thank Jeff Bouffard and everyone at AstenJohnson for all of their caring and support during this difficult time.

Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception at 10 a.m.

There will be no calling hours.

There will be a private burial for the family following the ceremony.
