OLDEST BAR MEMBER DIES
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the First Methodist Church of Cookeville for Linneus Milan Bullington, 80, of 1305 CrescentDrive, who died at his home July 10 after a brief illness. Burial was in City Cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The oldest member of the Putnam County Bar Association, Mr. Bullington had been active in County and City affairs for a number of years.

He was a teacher in the public schools in his early manhood, and in 1908 was graduated from Cumberland University, Law School, at Lebanon.

He started his first law practice under the learned guidance of the late Judge O. K. Holladay in the First Nation Bank Building and continued to practice there in an adjoining office to the chambers of late Judge Holladay's son Judge John D. Holladay.

Mr. Bullington was a well known surveyor, and had done work in most of the counties in the Upper Cumberland. He also served as City Clerk and City Councilman.

He taught a Sunday school class at the Cookeville First Methodist Church for 40 years and was a devoted worker in religious and civic undertakings.

Having established his identity a number of years ago by wearing a red necktie, Mr. Bullington was laid to rest wearing the same symbol by which so many people knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Allison Bullington of Cookeville; a son, John Bullington, Cookeville; two brothers, L. L. Bullington, Baxter, and Marvin Bullington, Tampa, Florida. Four half brothers, George Bullington, Lebanon, TN; Paul Bullington, Old Hickory, TN, Lilburn Bullington, Sarasota, FL and Charles Rhea Bullington, Nashville. Two half sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Rosebrough, Deland, FL; and Miss Rose Bullignton, Huntington, WV and two grandsons, Joe Bullington and Bill Bullington. Both of Cookeville.

Mrs. Marguerite Lee, who has served as secretary to Mr. Bullington for a number of years interrupted her vacation with her daughter and soninlaw Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Spicer, Houston, TX to fly back for the funeral.
