FILBURN, Mary C. (nee Bucklew) Our beloved mother, age 95 formerly of Riverside, passed away peacefully of natural causes, on Monday, August 16, 2010 @ 9:30 AM. Mary was a resident of Walnut Creek Nursing Center, Kettering, OH for five plus years. Mary was a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend and through the years she worked tireless for our father, Thurman, in his professional photographic business from their home on Oaklawn Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. Mary and her identical twin sister Martha, who shared a special bond were born on January 13, 1915 in Union, OH to the late Albertus H. and Nellie M. (Hart) Bucklew. Mary was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for many years and a member of the Dayton Liederkranz Turner German Club and the Red Hat Society. Mary was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Miami Twp., who has so faithfully provided her spiritual ministry through the years at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Mary outlived all of her siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman, June 3, 1978; a sister, Ruth McClure, August 5, 2005; brother, Paul Bucklew, October 24, 2005; Identical twin sister, Martha Blackburn, May 10, 2009; granddaughter, Leona Frances Hensley, Jan 2, 2005; great granddaughter, Jennifer Sanders and son-in-law, Donald Boehmer Sr., Oct 15, 2009. She is survived by (2) daughters, Janet Boehmer and Marcia (Bill) Wiles and a son, Ronald L. (Sarah) Filburn. 11 grandchildren, Donald Jr., Timothy and Kenneth Boehmer, Douglas, Daniel, and David Wiles, Dorothy Clark and Deanne Carson, Mark Filburn, Karin Dorsten and Brian Filburn. (32) great grandchildren and (8) great great grandchildren. Prayers will be said Saturday, August 21 at 9:45 AM at the WESTBROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton, OH followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6666 Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH at 10:30 AM. Fr. Tom Schearer and Fr. Ron Combs to con-celebrate the Holy Mass of Christian Burial. A LUNCHEON WILL FOLLOW THE Mass AT THE St. Henry PAC Center on Church property after internment at Calvary Cemetery, and all are invited. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday, August 20 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, Area Heart Association or the American Lung Association in memory of Mary Filburn or other charities of the donor's choice. The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff @ Walnut Creek Nursing Facility for their care, comfort and dedication through the years to mother and to Hospice of Dayton-our family will be forever grateful. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her long life.
