DEATH OF DORIS FURLONG

The Angel of Death came to little Doris FURLONG, 6-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward O. FURLONG, Saturday morning at 3 o'clock, following an operation for appendicitis. It was a crushing blow to the parents and a sorrow to the entire, for little Doris was an uncommonly winsome child, a favorite with her playmates and loved by everybody. The little one was taken ill last week and when operated upon at the Steamboat hospital the appendix was found to be ruptured and she could not recover from shock.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Congregational church and was participated in by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. All the business houses of the town closed from 2 until 3 o'clock out of respect and sympathy. Rev. Darling read comforting passages from the Scriptures and the sermon was delivered by Rev. Upham. Music was by the girls' chorus of the congregational church and Graham Bradley sang "Asleep in Jesus." The casket was banked with flowers, the loving tribute of many friends. The pallbearers were Joseph M. KELLOGG, W. E. FITZGERALD, A. R. BROWN, Ray PECK, George CLATTE and James A. BROBECK.

Doris FURLONG was born in Omaha, Nebraska, April 30, 1916.

The loving sympathy of hosts of friends goes out to the stricken family in the loss of their little one.

The service was conducted by Rev. C. Upham with the reading of several passages from the Scriptures by Rev. Joseph H. Darling. Two appropriate selections were sung by a choir of girls of the Congregational Sunday school, and B. G. Bradley sang "Asleep in Jesus." There were many floral offerings, and the altar was banked with flowers. Many friends from all parts of the country, were present. The pallbearers were A. R. BROWN, Ray PECK, W. E.
