Charles FRANZ, county commissioner of the Elk River district passed away at six o'clock this morning in a Denver hospital. Mr. FRANZ has been in Denver about a month, and has been sick during the entire time of his stay there. He is survived by two brothers, George and William, who both reside at Steamboat. William was at the bedside when the final summons came.
Mr. FRANZ was 56 years old last February. He was one of the pioneers of Routt county, having come here over 30 years ago and being the second settler on Elk river. During his long residence here he has built up a reputation for thorough honesty and his loss is mourned by the entire county. He originally came from Kansas. The funeral services will take place in Steamboat at an early date.
