Mrs. Emily Peggy Fomby, 79, of Hogansville, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 7, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Lipp will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery.

Mrs. Fomby was born May 18, 1928, in Coweta county, daughter of the late Jack and Annie Mae Harrison Gaddy. She was a lifelong resident of the Hogansville area and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter in-law, Roger Fomby and Donny and Lillie Mae Gaddy, all of Hogansville; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, including Nadine and Lawson Boyd, who she considered as a daughter; and very special friends, Cindy and Joe Mathers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Coley Lee Fomby; her son, Lewis Arnold Fomby; and her great-grandson, Zachary Coley Fomby.

The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
