Hal as he was called was the 4th child born to Edmund Tierney & Georgia Maud Smith. He was a glass blower,Chef,chief commissary steward officer on USS New Orleans during WWII , a merchant seaman,air craft mechanic & poet, a chef. He married Pauline Esther Brown on June 1 1936. They had two daughters Harla An & Paula Lee. His ashes were scattered at sea Point Loma,San Diego by the Neptune Society.
