Ellis M. Ilgen
Ellis M. Ilgen, 218 Homer St., died today in Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison, Wis., where he had been a patient for one week.
He was born May 2, 1899, in Damascus, son of Robert and Mary A. (Wonder) Ilgen. March 3, 1956, he married Dorothy Janicke in Rockford.
Mr. Ilgen, a veteran of World Wars I and II, was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad and later by Oakland Cemetery. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion.
Surviving are his widow; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles (Judy) Burrington of Freeport; a stepson, Jerry Janicke of Freeport; four grandchildren; one sister, Miss Gladys Ilgen of Freeport; and one brother, also of Freeport. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. The Rev. George Stiekes, assistant pastor of First Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
