She was born on May 19, 1922 in Portland, Oregon to Frank Hall and Flora Lucile Skolfield. The youngest of five children, Carol graduated from Jefferson High School and Miss Holmes' Secretarial School. She married Paul Luckeroth, her high school sweetheart, in 1945, when he returned from service overseas with the U. S. Army Air Corps. Paul and Carol enjoyed a loving and happy marriage for 47 years, until Paul's death in 1992.
Their greatest joy was raising their six children. As a young civil engineer, Paul often worked away from home, so Carol frequently cared for the kids by herself. Yet, she still found the time to actively support each of them in school and activities.
After nearly thirty years devoted to her family, Carol was prevailed upon to take charge of the fuel business that had been built by her father. Undaunted by her lack of formal business training and a predominately male work environment, Carol successfully managed the Oregon and Skolfield Fuel Companies using the same methods as she had in her own household.
In retirement, Carol enjoyed her beach house, the outdoors as a hiker and gardener and the company of her family. She was an exceptionally kind and sincere person, who embraced life's joys with gratitude and life's sorrows with grace. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children: Joe (Patti), Robert (Lois), Lori, Denise (Kathy), Diane, Lisa Rank (Joe); four grandchildren ; and one great-grandchild.
