THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE (with edits): Roberta June Allred Sorensen, 84, completed her earthly journey May 24, 1999. Surrounded by her loving family she peacefully slipped through the veil that separates the world of mortality and the world of the spirit.

Roberta was born in Delta, Utah, March 28, 1915 to Ada Blaylock and Wilford Allred. She lived in a number of western cities before moving to Provo in 1952, so her son, Jerry, could attend Brigham Young University. There she met and married Donald M. Sorensen, May 5, 1953, and they became the parents of a daughter, Christine Louise. The marriage was eventually solemnized in the Provo Temple.

Roberta was active in the LDS Church and a number of local social clubs, but her pervasive interest was her family. She was a caregiver in her family and provided that care to her mother, her sister Cleo, her children and her grandchildren. She always gave with love and concern as she made life easier for her loved ones.

Roberta was an active realtor and enjoyed her work immensely. One of the things that excited her was helping first time buyers into a home.

Her own home was always a beehive of family activity, and she leaves 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Roberta was preceded in death by: her husband, Donald M. Sorensen; her parents; siblings--Hugh, Ray, Sidney, Afton, Cleone; her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Leroy and Bonnie Turner. She is survived by: daughter Christine Louise (Jeffery) Reynolds and step-daughters Carol (Joel) Jensen and DeeAnn (Dean) Reynaud.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 27, 1999, at 1 p.m. in the Orem City Cemetery. Friends may meet with family at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State St. in Orem, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
