Alfred Max Spooner, 45, 1452 Loomis street, husband of E. Bernice Spooner, died at his home Wednesday afternoon. He was born in Green Lake county, Wis., June 2, 1899. Spooner was a civil engineer with the state highway commission for the past 20 years, coming to the La Crosse office from Wisconsin Rapids in 1932.

He is survived by his wife; one son, John Alfred, and one daughter, Ann Bernice, all of La Crosse; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Spooner of Princeton, Wis.; one sister, Hazel of Princeton; three brothers, Lester of Princeton, Russell of Waukegan, Ill., and Ray of Dalton, Wis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church, Dr. Carl O. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the north chapel of the Sletten McKee company Friday evening and at the church Saturday from 12 noon until 2 p.m.
