Maylen "Shorty" Abbott, 68, of Belding died Thursday at the University hospital in Ann Arbor where he had been for five weeks.
He was born January 6, 1878, in Jackson county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Abbott. He had lived in Belding for thirty years.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Inez Wilson of Belding; two half sisters; Mrs. A.J. Quackenbush and Mrs. Gus Schemenaur of Bangor; and a half brother, James Abbott of Bangor.
Funeral services will be held from the Fales Huffman funeral home Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Halley B. Oliver officiating. Interment will be at River Ridge Cemetery
