"MARYSVILLE - Fred. C. Snay, 86, of 1217 Colorado, died Sunday Jan. 22, 1984. He was born Jan. 22, 1898, and was a lifelong area resident. He married Mattie Aug. 30, 1921, in Port Huron. She died Oct. 3, 1983. Mr. Snay was a life member of the Marysville Lodge No. 498 F&AM. He was the first police officer and chief of the Marysville Police Dept. He retired after serving more than 25 years. He was a former Justice of the Peace in Marysville. He was a member of the Michigan Sheriffs Assoc. and a charter member of the Eastern Mich. Law Enforcement Assoc. He also was a former member of the Marysville Lions Club. He is survived by a son, Frank C., Port Huron; a brother Frank Snay, Marysville; three grandsons and two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and two nieces and one nephew. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wed. in the Arthur Smith Funeral Homes-South Chapel, Port Huron. The Rev. Dr. Richard E. Daniels, of St. Marks Ministry of Caring, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery."
