O'DANIEL, LOCAL BUSINESSMAN DIES, LEAVES LARGE FAMILY - Bardstown businessman Amos O'Daniel, 48, died Saturday, February 15, at his residence, 205 S. Elm Grove, here. He had been ill more than four years, and recently was hospitalized at St. Joseph Infirmary. O'Daniel was owner of Bardstown Motors here, which is operated by his sons, Ronnie and Jimmy O'Daniel. A native of Marion County, O'Daniel, with his family, moved here from Lebanon 16 years ago. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus at Bardstown and once served as Grand Knight. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Golda Cambron O'Daniel; three sons, Ronnie, Jimmy and Ricky O'Daniel, all of Bardstown; seven daughters, Mrs. Charles Stone, Bardstown; Mrs. Gene Brothers, Bloomfield; Misses Peggy, Dale, Fran, Kathy and Carol O'Daniel, all at home; his father, A. L. O'Daniel, Bardstown; one grandson, Chris Stone. Also surviving are three aunts, Mrs. Margaret Evans, Florida; Mrs. Sherman Bledsoe, Indiana; and Mrs. George Walston, Louisville. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Cathederal. Rev. Linus Giesler, pastor, was celebrant of the Requiem Mass. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, with Rev. John Duffy Trager, assistant at St. Joseph, conducting the service. Serving as active pallbearers were Adolph Hicks, C. W. Rogers, Harold Ballard, Victor Fister, Adrian O'Daniel and George Filiatreau. Honorary pallbearers were Nick Fister, Frank F. Clark, Harold H. Bland and Frank Bowling. The body was at Mann, Greenwell & Arnold Funeral Home.
