He was born in Corpus Christi, TX. He was a 1959 graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Beatrice. He served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1962, was stationed in Guam and was a communications specialist on the U.S.N. Cacapon. He was married to Jacquelyn Joyce on June 11, 1965 in Beatrice. He worked at State Federal Savings and Loan and American Charter in Beatrice for 29 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Beatrice. Survivors include his wife, Jacquie, Beatrice, NE; one daughter, Joelle "Joey" Hankins and husband Tom, Beloit, WI; one son, Josh Richling and wife Angie, Omaha; four grandchildren, Chase and Chelsey Hankins and Anna and Samuel Richling; brother-in-law, Johnny Joyce, Charleston, SC; sister-in-law, Janet Vitosh and husband Mark, Odell.
MASS of Christian Burial Monday, August 30, 2010 at 10:30am at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Beatrice. Burial Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the Veterans Memorial Park. A Scriptural Prayer Service will be held on Sunday evening, August 29, 2010 at 5pm at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 8am Saturday morning until 9pm Sunday and not at the church on Monday. For online condolences visit
