Obits: Winona Republican Herald; Date May 4 1931;Page:3 Arthur S. Irish, a resident of Beaver, died at his home following an illness of a few weeks, at 4 a.m. Sunday. He was born on a farm on Greenwood Praire in 1870 and live there until a young man. He went to Idaho where he spent several years of his life. A few years later he returned to Minnesota and in November of 1909 he married Miss Anna Champine of Plainview. Mr Irish spent the greater majority of his years farming and at the time of his death had charge of the Beaver Telephone Central. He is survived by his wife, and son Cleon from a former Marriage; one brother,Charles at Plainview; and a half broter ,James Baker of Beach N.D., and one sister, Mrs Osgood of Vancouver, British Columbia. His son Cleon, resides at Ogden, Utah. He came last week and will be present at the funeral. A brother William died two years ago. Mr Irish was at one time engaged in the store business at Beaver. Funeral services will be held a 2 p.m. at the Methodist church Tuesday with the Plainview minister officiating. Burial will be made in the Beaver Cemetery.

Arthur Irish, 61 years old, had been ill past six months Arthur S Irish passed away at his home in Beaver Sunday Morning, May 3 at 4 o'clock, at the age of 61 years and 24 days. The cause of his death was cancer, after an illnes of 6 months during which time he had undergone an operation. Mr Irish was born in the town of Whitewater, Winona County, April 9, 1870, and he has lived in this vicinity all his life except for five years spent in the West. He has been engaged mainly in the pursuit of agriculture and a number of years ago he lost one hand when it was crushed in the seperator of a threshing rig.
On November 24, 1909, Mr Irish was married to Anna Champine at Winona and to them two sons were born. His wife, two sons, Leon of Beaver and Cleon of Ogden, Utah, survive him. besides one sister,Mrs Jennie Osgood of Vancouver,B.C. and two brothers Jim of Beach N.D.and Charlie of Plainview. Mr Irish was of a most genial disposition, greatly loved by all who knew him. The presence of his kindly spirit will ever be felt by those with whom he was most intimately associated. Funeral services were conducted at the Beaver M.E. church by Rev Gilman tuesday afternoon and burial was made in the Beaver Cemetery.
