Son of Henry Beemer (1833-1910) & Elizabeth E. Miller, daughter of Jacob Miller & Esther Van Sycle/Van Sickle of Lee Co., Illinois. His married 17 Mar. 1892, Williams, Hamilton Co., Iowa to Jennie Tubbs, d/o Merritt N. Tubbs and Wealthy Boyington. Freeman's obituary: "Algona Advance", Algona, Iowa, June 5, 1951: NORTH KOSSUTH RESIDENT MANY YEARS IS DEAD.
Lakota- Freeman Walter Beemer, who died last week Tuesday, was born at Pau Pau [sic- Paw Paw] , Ill., August 17, 1867. Here he grew to young manhood.
In April 1889 he married to Jennie Tubbs, of Pau Pau [sic]. Four children were born, Earl; Guy; Gladys and Joy.
The family remained in Illinois till 1895, when they came to Iowa settling near Buffalo Center on a farm.
In 1908 they moved to a farm east of Lakota where they resided for six years.
They then retired to Lakota where he spent the rest of his life with the exception of a few years at Alden.
Two weeks ago his condition became serious and he was taken to the home of his son, Guy. He was 83 years, 9 months, and 12 days old.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his son Earl, and the two daughters, Gladys and Joy. Surviving are his son, Guy, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also one sister, Delia Argraves of Rockford, Ill., ------relatives and friends.
Services were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church at Lakota, with the Pastor E. (?) H. Buschman officiating. Burial was at Albert Lea, Minn.
The male quartet -------ed music at the church.
