In 1870 census, Elbert Allen & his second wife are in HH #40, in Cashiers Valley, Jackson Co, NC. With them are the four children by Elizabeth Lloyd Allen, and their 1-month old son, James R. Allen.
Children of Elizabeth Floyd Allen were:
1. Florence Theodocia "Docia" Allen, b 1858; mrd Leander Jackson Berrong
2. Andrew Buell Allen, b 1861; mrd Georgia Josephine Hill

In 1880 census, Elbert Allen is living in Hiwassee, Clay Co, NC. Children by his first marriage are still with them, along with six children of Margaret Elizabeth Gibson Allen. Unfortunately, only the initials are shown for several members of this family.
In 1900, W. E. & Margaret Allen are in Toccoa, Habersham Co, GA. The five children with them are Margaret's children & are shown as being born in Georgia; however, two of those children are listed in 1880 census as having been born born in NC. This census does not include children who were born & died between 1880 and 1900.
