Clara May Starkey was born to Kate and Herbert Starkey November 4, 1894 in Gage Valley, near Palmer, Nebraska. She departed from this life February 19, 1959 in a Hastings, Nebraska hospital at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 15 days.

She spent her childhood near Palmer. On February 28, 1911 she and Fred Adams were united in marriage at St. Paul, Nebraska.

Mrs. Adams was baptized into the Christian faith June 22, 1919 and received into the membership of the Palmer Methodist Church August 18, 1919.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two infant brothers.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Fred Adams of Cushing; a son, John Berdette Adams; two daughters, Mrs. Violet Cook of Wolbach and Mrs. LaVonne Anderson of Cushing; one sister, Mrs. Millie Smydra of Boelus; two brothers, Wm. Starkey, St. Paul and Bruce Starkey of Palmer; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and a host of friends.
