Mr. C.B. Adams, age 82 of Franklin, Georgia passed away January 4, 2008, at the Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Georgia.
Funeral services for Mr. Adams were conducted Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 3 p.m. from the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Franklin, Georgia. The interment followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Adams was born in Heard County, Georgia on May 30, 1925, to the late Bill Adams and Camillia Eady Adams. "Mr. C B" was a well known business man in Heard County where he was the owner of Adams service station for many years. He was well liked by all of the towns' people. His station was a popular spot for both young and old to stop for brief repairs, a quick snack, and lots of good conversation. After his retirement he became affiliated with the Heard County Sheriff's Department, where he served as the jailer, and during court, bailiff. During World War II he served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy in the South Pacific. For his gallantry he was awarded the 35 Honorable Service Lapel Button, Honorable Discharge Emblem, USNR Honorable Discharge Button, and the Honorable Service Lapel Button. He and his lovely wife of 60 years, Lillian were active members of the Olive Branch Baptist Church. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Ridley Adams of Franklin, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Mike Maxwell of Fayetteville, Ga.; three sisters, Sara Middlebrooks of LaGrange, Ga., Lucille and James Scott of Franklin, Ga., Betty and Charles North of Carrollton, Ga.; four brothers; Watson Adams of Franklin, Ga., Johnny and Jane Adams also of Franklin, Ga., Jack and Mary Adams of Peachtree City, Ga., and Ray Adams of Duluth, Ga.; and grandchildren, April Butzon of Augusta, Erin Beuhler of Atlanta, and Carrie Maxwell of Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Camillia Adams, and one sister, Doris Davis.
