Hope was a triplet. Of the three girls, she lived the longest. She was born in Wenatchee, Douglas Co., Washington at approximately 2:00PM on October 24, 1921 and died at 3:00AM on October 25, 1921. She lived about 13 hours. My grandmother, who was born 12 days later and was their cousin, told me several times the story of how the triplets were born so small, how they were named, and how the family tried to keep them alive by laying them on the oven to keep them warm. They had faith and hope that one would live and it was purportedly a sunny day the day they were born. Hence their names: Faith, Hope, and Sunshine Rader.

Note: Death certificate either has the wrong birthdate or the number of hours lived is wrong. She could not have been born October 25, 1921 and died 13 hours later at 3:00AM. My grandmother never said they were born on different days so my guess is that time lived was incorrectly stated. I also believe they were actually born and died on the Chelan County side of Wenatchee where my grandmother was born. However, the death certificate states it was the Douglas County side.
