Rio died of kidney failure after battling Diabetes for many years, she was also a cancer survivor. Her childhood was spent in Fort Worth and most of her adult life in Arlington. She worked in the paint and body business for over 20 years. Along with her husband Richard, she raised one son, Zac and one daughter, Vicki. At the time of her death she had one grandson Justin, 15 months. She was the daughter of Joseph Lee and Myrtle Mingus of Ft. Worth. She was survived by three brothers, Dale Mingus of Beaumont, and Paul and Dean Mingus both of Ft Worth. She had two sisters Dodie Iverson of Burleson and Dolores DeAngelis of San Jose, CA.
