George was born April 26, 1918 in Wheeling, a son of the late Joseph and Flora Ciripompa.
He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Mingo Junction Plant; a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church; and a member of the Wheeling High School 1938 State Champion Basketball team. In addition, he was a member of the Italian American Club, Elm Grove Civics, Elm Grove Eagles; and fourth degree member and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, Carroll Council, No. 504, Wheeling.
George was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp., and was injured while serving in the European Theatre during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Pastoria.
