Graveside services for Hester Irene Blackwell, 79, were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 1991, from the Homewood Methodist Cemetery in Homewood. Rev. Roe Ballow officiated. Mrs. Blackwell passed away on Sunday, October 27, at the Rolling Acres Retirement Center in Raleigh following an extended illness. She had moved from Cleveland, MS and had lived in Homewood for twelve years.
Survivors include three sons, Ralph Abrams and Kenneth Tedd Abrams, both of Metropolis, IL, and Lee Elmer Blackwell, Jr. of Forest; eight grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Elmer Blackwell in October 1981.
Pallbearers were Thurman Weems, William Boyles and Lee Blackwell Jr.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest was in charge of arrangements.
