Lamar, Oct. 9 - Mrs. Mary Lindler, 94 years of age, died early Wednesday morning at the home of her daugher, Mrs. E. A. Gray, after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in Chapon Lutheran church, conducted by the pastor, assisted by the Rev. Dr. H. A. McCullough, of Columbia, a former pastor. Burial will be in the family plot near Chapin. Mrs. Lindler, one of the older residents of this section, enjoyed good health until about a year ago. Since that time she had been confined to bed. During World War I she did quite a bit of knitting for the Red Cross. Her hobby was quilting. Only two years ago she made 14 quilts. Born and reared in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Mrs. Polly Comolander. Her husband, the late Simon O. Lindler, died 20 years ago. Since that time she has made her home with Mrs. Gray. Surviving are the daughters; two sons, H. B. Lindler, of Sherrills Ford, N.C., and C. L. Lindler, of Atlanta; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. © The News and Courier, Charleston, SC, 10 Oct 1946
