About 42 years ago he came west and settled on the land now owned by the widow near the Beemerville Church. The deceased was converted and united with the M. E. Church 50 years ago. After the U. B. Church was built near his recent home for the sake of convenience he united with it. He had always been a zealous worker in the church and in various ways manifested his fidelity to the cause he expounded in his manhood. A wife and 7 children mourn his departure, and yet feel consoled in the consciousness that to them even the memory of him is blessed. The funeral services were held at the Beemerville Church conducted by Rev. B. A. Dickens. The body interred at the Ellsworth Cemetery.
