He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Cora Huffstetler Best; and brothers, Truman, Fred and Claude Best.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Kagley Best of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Eldra and Janice Best, Donald and Kim Best; son, Rick Best; daughter, Trish Best, all of Maryville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Mary (Mrs. Bill) Coning of Maryville and Edith Dawson of California; brothers, Ed Best, Burl Best, Vern Best, all of Maryville; 'special loved ones Nola, Randy and Jamie; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was Sunday in McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Hodge officiating. The interment will be at 11 a.m. today in Carpenters Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home.
