24 JAN 2023 SAC with obituary.*~*Burl James Bigby, former Adair County Superintendent of Schools and a long time school teacher and principal, died Saturday at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK following a long illness.
He was married to Glynadene Brown in June of 1953. She preceded him in death on April 18, 1974. He was married to Juanita Buckmaster on May 31, 1980.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Harold Bigby, in September, 1974, and his father, Buster Bigby.
He survived by his wife of the home; a son Gary Dwayne Bigby, Stilwell, and a step son Joe Buckmaster, Germany, a daughter Brenda Kay Jacobs, OKC, OK, and a step daughter Duanita Gail Helm, Yukon, OK his mother, Callie Bigby of Stilwell; two brothers, Gilbert Bigby, Tahlequah, and Rob Bigby, Salinas, CA; one sister Louise Adair, Stilwell, two grandchildren and several aunts and uncles.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Stilwell Pentecostal Holiness church in Stilwell with Rev. Eddie Bigby and Rev. Hubert Sponsler officiating.
