Christine S. Wekenborg, 90, of Jefferson City, died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Rev. Donald Lammers and Deacon Richard Luebbering officiated. Interment was in St. Thomas Parish Cemetery in St. Thomas. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the St. Peter Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home in Jefferson City.
Born Nov. 10, 1913, in St. Thomas, she was the daughter of the late Peter T. and Theresia M. Evers Libbert. On Nov. 24, 1941, in St. Thomas, she married William James Wekenborg, who preceded her in death June 3, 1994. She had attended St. Thomas parochial schools and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She had also been a volunteer at St. Mary's Health Center Auxiliary in Jefferson City and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sisters, Marie Rodemann of Jefferson City and Monica Luebbering of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew F. Libbert and Wilfrid J. Libbert, and one sister, Annie Libbert.
