FINAL RITES FOR ABNER EGLI,
61, HELD AT MANSON
Funeral services for Abner Egli, 61, Algona policeman, were held today, Tuesday, at the Methodist Church in Manson, at 2 p.m.
Rev. H. E. Carbaugh officiated, and burial followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery. McCullough Funeral Chapel of Algona, and Larson Funeral Home of Manson, handled the arrangements. A service was held at 1:30 at the Larson Funeral Home, preceding the church rites.
Mr. Egli died suddenly Friday evening at 9 p.m. at St. Ann hospital, following a stroke.
Abner Egli was born April 26, 1893 at Hopedale, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Egli, and had been a resident of the Manson area for many years before he moved to Algona last winter. He was a policeman for 17 years there, and started on the force here February 1 this year.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha, and four children: Jim, Algona; Joe, Helen (Mrs. Harold Zook), and Ruth (Mrs. R. G. Swartzendruber), all of Manson. He is also survived by three brothers, Joe and C. B. of Manson and Ben, Hopedale, Ill.; and six sisters, Barbara and Mollie, Manson; Mrs. Simon Greiser (Lavina), and Mrs. Dan Miller (Lena), Conneut Lake, PA.; Mrs. Edwin Miller (Lydia), Middlebury, Ind., and Mrs. Emma Fleener, Lowell, Indiana.
His first wife, Katherine, and a daughter, Marguerite, preceded him in death.
