Aaron Louis Chaffee, 80, of Frankenmuth, died Saturday, April 2, at Saginaw General Hospital, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 12, 1913, in Elmwood Township, Tuscola County, the son of Clyde M. and Margaret (Dudenhofer) Chaffee. He graduated from Cass City High School in 1930.

Chaffee, who had been a farmer in the Cass City area, moved to Frankenmuth in 1984. He served with the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre.

He is survived by 2 brothers, Rev. George Chaffee and wife Doris of Jackson and M. Dale Chaffee and wife Shirley Jean of Kalarnazoo; 6 sisters, Mrs. Edith Wightman and Husband Edward of Brooksville, Fla., Mrs. Alice Witkovsky and husband Clayton and Mrs. Frances McCoon and husband Lyle, all of Caro, Mrs. Violet Wengert and husband William of Apache Junction, Ariz., Mrs. Arlene Stilson and husband Carl of Mayville, Miss Shirley Chaffee of North Branch, and many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Stanley, Francis and Bernard, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at Little's Funeral Home, Cass City, with the Rev. George Chaffee of Jackson ofticiating Interment was in Elkland Cemetery, Cass City.
