Ms. Esther Gonzalez was called by our Lord on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the age of 93 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 7, 1916. She was a life-long resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. Esther Gonzalez dedicated many years as a Histology Lab Technician under the direction of Dr. James Pilcher in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Enrique and Virginia Gonzalez; Sisters: Elvira (Juanita) Ornelas, Manuela Martinez, Felicitas Chapa. Brothers: Refugio Gonzalez, Juan Gonzalez, Leopoldo Gonzalez, Placido Gonzalez, and Antero (Tito) Jackson; Daughter Melida Crisantes Garza and grand-daughter, Cynthia Garza Sanchez.

Esther is survived by her daughter Angelita (Emilio) Perez of Corpus Christi, Texas and son Martin (Maria Sylvia) Crisantes of San Antonio, Texas and grandchildren: Sammy (Sandra) Garza, Diana (Lorenzo) Gomez, David (Melissa) Garza, Daniel (Rosalinda) Garza, Tommy Garza, Jerry Perez and Phillip Sanchez all of Corpus Christi, Texas, Martin Garza of San Diego, CA, Paul Crisantes, and Marc Crisantes of Austin, Texas; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; One sister, Consuelo Rodriguez of Torrance, California and one brother Henry (Bertha) Gonzalez of Kingman, Arizona; one son-in-law Sammy Garza, Sr. and one sister-in-law Lily Gonzalez. She also leaves behind a beloved friend Trinie Rodriguez of Chula Vista, California. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Esther will best be remembered for her dedication and love for all her family. Her passing will be greatly felt by her family members whose lives were inspired by her hard work ethic and very generous spirit. It will be through her loving memory that will continue to inspire her family to continue her legacy of love and generosity for generations to come.

The family of Esther Gonzalez wishes to thank Reliable Ambulance, Dr. Fuqua and staff and doctors and staff on the 3rd floor of Bay Area Hospital for their compassionate care.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Precious Blood on Wednesday August 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
