Mrs. Eva Stokes, 84, of Fourth Street Frazeysburg, died at 10:05 p.m. Friday at her home following a lingering illness. She was born Dec. 10, 1891 in Pennsville.

She was a member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. Her husband Ivan C. died Feb. 24 1970.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. John Max (Kathryn) Frazier, Mrs. Don (Janice) Riley and Mrs. Carroll (Joan) Bumpus, all of Frazeysburg, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Leas of Dresden and Mrs. Paul (Jean) Oravis of Washington, D. C.; four sons, Kenneth of Frazeysburg, Ivan Jr. of Dresden, Rev. Donald Stokes of Palmer, Alaska, and Robert of Ashland; three sisters Mrs. Blanche Simpson of Stockport, Mrs. Mabel Williams of Malta and Mrs. Amy Dougan of Pennsville; 32 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Baughman and Sons Funeral Home at Frazeysburg where friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Frazeysburg United Methodist Church, with burial in Frazeysburg cemetery.
