Friends of the D E Noble family were saddened Tuesday when they learned that Mr Noble had passed away at his home at 10:30 o'clock Monday evening, April 7. He had been ill since the middle of February suffering from a kidney ailment and other complications resulting from this illness. Mr Noble was a pioneer resident of the Jeffers community, making his home here for 62 years. He was born in Canada in 1865 and came to Cottonwood county in 1885. He homesteaded a farm north of Jeffers and following his marriage in 1888, he lived on the farm until 1903, when they moved to their home in Jeffers. Nine children, five boys and four girls, were born to Mr and Mrs Noble all of whom are living. They are: Arch, neal and Mrs Maude Storey of Jeffers; Willis of Madison, Minnesota; Mrs. Mattie Pufahl of Mankato; Earl of Nelscott, Oregon; Mildred (Mrs Fred Werner) of Wells; Margaret (mrs Milton Dirks) of Deer Lodge, Montana; and Boyd of Brooklyn, New York. Funeral services will be conducted this Friday afternoon, April 11 at one thirty o'clock from the home and at two o'clock from the Jeffers Methodist church. The Rev P E Shannon will be in charge. Siloam Lodge No. 330 AF & AM of which Mr Noble was a member, will be in charge at the cemetery. Burial will be made in the Jeffers Cemetery.
