Olive grew up in rural Allen County and Bourbon Co. Ks. near Stoney Point. She graduated to the Eighth Grade, worked doing laundry, cleaning houses. She married Chester Leonard Yocum of Elsmore Ks on Feb. 24, 1924. This marraige produced 2 daughters. Evelyn Ladine and Shirley Mae. Chester and Olive were struggling to make ends meet and resorted to running liquor according to a sister. The marraige ended as the girls were finishing High School and Olive moved to Wichita near her oldest daughter. She remarried to William C. Long. Olive worked for Beechcraft and then St. Josephs Hospital. She loved to grow flowers and tomatoes. And she loved her grandchildren. Spent her last years at Moran Ks near her youngest daughter.
