COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Ida Ruth Gentry Ward, 91, of Cookeville will be held Thursday, June 5, at 11 a.m. in Cookeville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, June 4, from 5-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of the services.
Mrs. Ward died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born on March 30, 1912, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Campbell and Lula Mae Lane Gentry.
Mrs. Ward was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ for 78 years.
Her family includes a daughter and soninlaw, Emma Jean and Harold Burchett of Cookeville; two sons and daughtersinlaw,
John Albert and Judie Ward of Cookeville and Edward L. and Jo Ward of Mayland; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 17 greatgreatgrandchildren; and special friends, Carolyn Ward, Onida Garrett and Jim and Nancy Blankenship.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Ward, and a daughter, Dorise Dean Thomas.
