(b. 12/05/52), Rosemary (b. 06/20/55 - married a Gemmill), Eleanor (b. @1858), Margaret "Maggie" (b. @1863), and James (b. @1865). In 1860, he was a farmer living in Hopewell Township, York County, Pennsylvania, and stood 5' 10" tall with brown hair and gray eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in York August 30, 1864, mustered into federal service at Harrisburg September 3 as a private with Co. B, 209th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company May 31, 1865.
