This community was not surprised but was considerably shocked to learn of the death of George Storr which occurred Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. H. C. May, in Ash Grove. Mr. Storr had been in very feeble health for a long time but Friday he received a paralytic stroke from which he never recovered. He was born in Long Sutton, Lincolnshire, England, Sept. 3, 1834, and sailed for America in May, 1854, settling in this state two years later. Nov. 5, 1857, he married Martha L. Price, who died in 1877. Mr. Storr was one of Windsor's leading merchants for 16 years. About 40 years ago he joined the Christian church and for many years was an elder in that organization. He was one of the best Bible scholars in Shelby county. The burial took place in the Ash Grove cemetery Monday afternoon. No sermon was preached at Mr. Storr's request but Elder G. T. Bridges conducted brief but impressive services. Besides his daughter, Mr. Storr leaves a son, Charles of Mexico, MO; an aged sister, Mrs. William Quick, of Windsor; one brother in Kansas, one in Michigan and a twin brother in England.
