Baker Rites
Funeral services for Joyce Baker, who died on Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan, will be held on Wednesday, April 18 at 10 a.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Max Keeble and Rev. M. T. Jenkins will officiate, with interment in Memorial Park.
Mrs. Baker was born on December 19, 1931 in Muldoon, to Hallie and Ruby Lee Parker Jones, both natives of Gonzales County. She was married to Buford Baker on August 5, 1950 in Gonzales, and they made their home at 712 Inwood in Bryan. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, and worked as a bookkeeper at Community Savings and Loan in College Station.
She is survived by her husband; her mother; 1 daughter, Linda Baker of Bryan; two sons, Michael Baker of Bryan and David Baker of League City; two sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Marie) Johnson of Waelder and Mrs. Otto (Ernestine) Wendit of Victoria; a brother, Jessie Jones of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Michelle Baker of Bryan, Christopher Baker and Carrie Jo Baker, both of League City; several nieces and nephews.
