He was born June 9, 1894, in Jefferson County to Charles and Alice V. Stump Creek. He operated Creek Construction Co. until retiring in 1967, and had operating threshing machines and saw mills with steam power for many years. He married Alta M. Jones November 20., 1918, in Libertyville. She died September 16, 1987.
He is survived by a daughter, Alice Hidy of Boonville, Mo.; a son, Jim of San Jacinto, Calif; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and two brothers, Raymond of Batavia and Van of Grassvalley, Calif.
The service will be 10:30 am Thursday at Campbell Funeral chapel in Batavia, the Rev. Leonard Sammon officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery, near Libertyville.
Visitation will be 7 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established to the Heart Fund.
